More About Us
Mapache Junk Removal and Clean Up Ltd. was created in beautiful Burnaby, British Columbia by two friends who met over 30 years ago almost 7,000km away in the land of coffee and salsa dancing. (Did you guess where yet?)
Nearly two decades after each making our way to the Vancouver area, we joined forces to start Mapache Junk Removal and Clean Up.
What’s in a name?
Our name Mapache, pronounced somewhat like “mah-PAH-chay,” is the Spanish word for our company icon - the raccoon.
The word, however, was adapted into Spanish from Nahuatl — the Aztec language in Mexico — and, according to the Real Academia Española, Nahuatl mapach means “animal that takes things in its hands.”
We could think of nothing more fitting for the business and we look forward to using our hands to carry away the things you want to see gone from your home or building.
Why us?
If you are providing a professional service, you must have skilled professionals to do the work. Combining one founder’s over 15 years of experience working with strata, the property management industry and homeowners with the other’s more than a decade in the trucking industry, we are confident that we are the right guys for the job.
Being a locally owned and operated company, we believe in supporting the people in our community, so we strive to provide our customers with efficient and cost-effective residential, commercial and strata junk removal services.
